The Banks Lake Golf Course is officially open. The spring opening date is always March 1. Memberships are being sold in anticipation of good golfing weather.

appreciation

March 10-14 is “Classified Employee Appreciation Week” at Grand Coulee Dam District schools. The school board voted to let employees of the district know that they appreciate what they do. School patrons are also encouraged to thank the classified (non-teacher) staff when they see them.

Assistant

coaches wanted

The school board plans to hire assistant coaches in both the baseball and fastpitch programs, which will have 18-20 student athletes in each. The positions are being advertised.

LR group

invited to speak

Lake Roosevelt High School’s “Project Lead the Way Team” has been invited to speak at the Indigenous Knowledge Systems and K-12 STEM education gathering March 25, at the Yakama Winter Lodge in Toppenish. The LRHS group has been asked to speak on how they integrate indigenous knowledge into the STEM classroom.

Two March regional activity dates: The Dry Falls Visitor Center opened for the season on March 1. The Othello Sandhill Crane Festival is coming up March 28-30, with the gathering place the Othello High School.
