LR competed at Cashmere in the Rieke Invitational April 25, but got rained out at a Mansfield’s Iceberg Invite April 22.

At Cashmere, the Raider girls finished 21st overall with 10 team points. The Raider boys did not score any team points.

Chyenne Kelly-Marconi scored all the team points for the Raiders. In the 100m hurdles, Kelly -Marconi placed seventh with the season personal record time of 17.51 seconds. Over at the Long/Triple Jump pit Kelly-Marconi placed fifth in both events with season PR jumps of 14 feet, 7 inches in the long and 32-2 in the triple jump.

Nathaniel Hall had another solid outing in the sprints. Hall ran a PR in the 100-meter race with the time of 12.13 seconds. Cameron Tillman also ran a PR in the 100, finishing in 12.8 seconds. Robert George finished the 110 high hurdles with the PR time of 20.21. Matthew Tillman ran for a PR in the 200, finishing in 28.3. Bryson Goggles threw a season PR in the discus at 81 feet, 8 inches. Will Friedlander stretched out further in the long jump, sailing another 20 inches en route to a PR jump of 14 feet, 10.5 inches.

Nathan Morrell had a breakout meet PRing in all three throwing events. At the shot put Morrell threw 36 feet even, a 17-inch PR. In discus, Morrell improved his PR by 6 feet, 4 inches with his throw of 96-7. In the javelin, Morrell became the Raiders’ number one with a PR throw of 110-2.

LR fielded both a 4x100 and 4x400 relay team at Cashmere.

“It has been a while since we have been able to field relay teams which are a very exciting aspect of Track & Field,” Head Coach Lori Adkins commented. “The 4x100 consisting of Coltin Williams, Will Friedlander, Robert George, and Cameron Tillman executed great hand offs and put us back on the board in that event.”

The team finished in 50.64 seconds.

In the 4x400 there was an error by the meet manager and the Raider team was listed as disqualified. Head Coach Lori Adkins explains the confusion and gives the teams time: “Due to technical errors our 4 x 4 made up of Coltin Williams, Nathaniel Hall, Cameron Tillman, and Josh Wilder was not listed in the results, but pulled off an unofficial time of 4:06,” she said. “This is a great foundation for building strong relay teams in the future, the boys’ team is young and full of talent.”

The Raiders are now preparing for Saturday’s meet in Oroville, the Draggoo Financial Invite. There, the Raiders will face most of the Central Washington B League along with Panorama and Bi-County Schools. Caribou Trail League members Brewster, Okanogan, Omak, Tonasket, and Cascade will also attend. Field events will start at 11:30 a.m., with track events beginning at noon.
