5/2 - Police received a call that there was a kidnapping in progress on Hill Avenue. The officer learned that the call was in error, and that the suspect did not contact the child in question.

- A caller at Electric Place in Electric City reported that the rear window of a vehicle had been shot out. The officer learned that a child had tossed a rock that broke the window. There was a child in a car seat at the time of the incident.

5/4 - A Grand Coulee Avenue driver was stopped for failing to signal and the officer found that he had been drinking and there was an open container of beer in the vehicle. Marijuana was also found in the vehicle. The man was arrested and taken to Grant County jail and is being charged with failing to signal, driving under the influence and having an open container of an alcohol beverage in his vehicle.

5/5 - Plant Protection requested that an officer contact the driver of a vehicle parked near the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam. An Indiana driver was asleep in the back seat of his pickup. The officer advised him that the area was closed after dark and that he would have to leave. The man said he pulled in to park because he was getting sleepy. He left.

- A Seattle woman was pulled over near the overlook area just above Grand Coulee Dam for speeding, but was ticketed for not having insurance. She was warned about being slightly over the speed limit.

- Police checked on a disturbance on Young Street and a woman told police that a man who had been drinking had been knocking on a downstairs apartment for quite a while. The man was gone when police arrived.

5/6 - The Moose Lodge reported to police that someone had taken one of their exterior security cameras.

5/8 - At the request from the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office police checked on a young child reportedly wandering around on Spring Canyon Road. The child was gone when the officer arrived.

- Police checked on a report of a gas smell at the Grand Coulee Dam Middle School. It was determined the smell was from a small spill the previous day so an evacuation was terminated.

- Police checked on a report of a juvenile playing in the middle of SR-174. The caller told police that a semi-truck was honking at him. When police arrived the juvenile was gone.

- A Keller driver was stopped because one of the headlamps on his vehicle was not working. The driver told police he didn’t have insurance. He was cited for not having insurance and warned on the inoperable headlamp.

5/9 - Police were called to a disturbance at Burdin Boulevard and Second Street. The caller said a man was trying to enter his house. The man told police that he had a woman inside and didn’t want to let the other man in. He declined to press charges, and police took the man trying to gain entrance to his brother’s place in Electric City.

- The old Sage Inn Restaurant on Midway Avenue was closed down because owners didn’t have a current business license.

- Police checked on a man using a barbecue on Young Street and learned that he had permission from the person living there to use it.

- Six juveniles were told to leave the area near North Dam canal after dark. They complied.

- Police got a complaint that music from the Electric City Bar and Grill was too loud. It was turned down.

5/10 - Police responded to a W. Grand Avenue location where a man was lying on the ground having a seizure. An ambulance was called.

- A woman who said she left her vehicle parked near the carnival eventually learned it had been found by police in the ditch off SR-174, high centered on a rock with about $3,000 damage to it. The report stated that the vehicle was unoccupied when found, and had a cell phone and $20 bill on the outside of the driver-side door.

- USBR Plant Protection advised police of a large number of people getting wet in the small waterfall near the administration area. Police told the group that the area was closed.

- Two Seattle people were told to vacate closed Bureau of Reclamation property near the 500kV switchyard. The two told police they were looking for the Roosevelt bust. They were directed to the bust and told to keep out of closed government property.

5/11 - A man living on Wetzel told police that a car dolly he owned was missing and believed stolen. He had the dolly at the Catholic Church but when he went to get it, it was gone.

- Police stopped a 13-year-old who visiting the area after he was seen riding a four-wheeler near North Dam Park. He was advised that he couldn’t ride the machine there.

- Police were advised of a cougar sighted in a field behind a house on Sunset in Electric City. The woman reporting the sighting said the animal was about 100 pounds and headed towards Sunset.

5/9 - A woman called to report that she had found a 4-year-old boy playing in the park with no parents around. Police learned where the boy lived and took him home, having a difficult time getting anyone to come to the door. The parent was advised that he needed to take better care of the boy and a copy of the report was sent to Child Protective Services.

- Police were advised that there was a 911 hang up call from the National Park Service. Police told the dispatcher that there had been a number of 911 hang up calls from there. The NPS called to say there was no emergency.
