After a win over Bridgeport last week, the Lady Raiders came up one game short of making it into district play, ending their season.
The Lake Roosevelt team played their last softball game of the 2014 season against Liberty Bell May 17.
"We just needed to win two of three this week to make it into districts as the third seed, but LR came up short and we didn't get job done to make districts," Head Coach Jamie Lezard said.
The Lady Raiders finished the season with a win-loss record of 5-15 overall and 5-10 in Central Washington B League play.
LR started the week at Bridgeport May 13, where they squeaked out a one-run win over the Fillies.
Savannah Marin and Brianna Goggles-Whalawitsa both went five for five at the plate. Tristen Adolph struck out five Fillies. LR did leave nine runners on the basepaths, but only committed two errors in the field.
Hosting the Mt. Lions of Liberty Bell in a doubleheader Saturday, Lake Roosevelt started off slow.
In the first game, the Mt. Lions knocked out two over-the-fence home runs and five doubles.
Lady Raider pitching struggled striking out only one Mt. Lion and giving up three walks.
The first game ended 19-2 after the fifth inning due to the mercy rule.
In the second game, LR bounced back with better hitting, but still left eight runners stranded, the difference between winning and losing, 11-8.
Tristen Adolph struck out four Mt. Lions on the day, throwing 185 pitches with 126 of them for strikes.
The Lady Raiders honored the four seniors on the team Saturday, when seniors Kassidi Boutain, Harlie Dice, Brianna Goggles, and Kaitlyn Traxler played their final game.
"We had a great season and we also have a young team," Lezard said, "so we should have a great group returning for next year's roster." Lezard said the coaches are "excited and are looking forwarded to next season."
