Five Raiders named to all-league

Five Lake Roosevelt Raider baseball players have been named to the Central Washington 2B North All-League teams.

Two were members of the 2013 All-League teams.

Devan Black was named to the First Team All CWL 2B North. Last season Black was named to the Second Team. Black continues to improve with an excellent season pitching, catching, and playing infield utility.

Chance Garvin was named to the CWL 2B North Second Team for 2014. In 2013 Garvin earned an honorable mention. Garvin played shortstop and had to cover many other spots over the course of the season. Garvin improved at the plate and helped LR to the 13-8 record they had in 2014.

Newcomer Taren Redstar joined Garvin on the CWL 2B North Second Team, Head Coach Billy Nicholson said

Redstar made a big impact on the team at the plate and on the field.

Freshman Tyrell Kiser and junior Trey Nicholson round out the all-league selections for the Raiders as both were named to the CWL 2B North honorable mention list.

Raider baseball next season will see great changes in the CWL 2B North. LR will play Okanogan, Brewster, and Tonasket along with the four carryovers from this season — Liberty Bell, Bridgeport, Manson, and Oroville. There are some questions about how the CWL will schedule league games as the current system of three would mean LR would have 21 games against North opponents with no non-league or crossover games. The CWL will have more berths to state with the increase in membership.
