Developing thunderstorms have prompted a fire weather warning.

.A MOIST AND UNSTABLE AIR MASS WILL PROMOTE SCATTERED AFTERNOON
AND EVENING THUNDERSTORMS OVER THE CASCADES TODAY. THESE STORMS
WILL PRODUCE ABUNDANT LIGHTNING ALONG THEIR TRACKS WHICH MAY LEAD
TO NEW FIRE STARTS.

ABUNDANT LIGHTNING FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 682...685 AND THE
WESTERN PORTIONS OF ZONES 677 AND 684...

WARNING FOR THUNDERSTORMS...WHICH IS IN EFFECT UNTIL 11 PM PDT
THIS EVENING.
* AFFECTED AREA: FIRE WEATHER ZONE 677 EAST WASHINGTON CENTRAL
CASCADE VALLEYS (ZONE 677)...FIRE WEATHER ZONE 682 EAST
WASHINGTON CENTRAL CASCADE MOUNTAINS (ZONE 682)...FIRE WEATHER
ZONE 684 EAST WASHINGTON OKANOGAN/METHOW VALLEYS (ZONE 684)
AND FIRE WEATHER ZONE 685 EAST WASHINGTON NORTH CASCADES (ZONE
685).
* THUNDERSTORMS: SCATTERED THUNDERSTORMS MOVING FROM SOUTH TO
NORTH THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING WILL PRODUCE ABUNDANT
LIGHTNING. HAIL AND LOCALLY HEAVY RAIN IS ALSO POSSIBLE.
* OUTFLOW WINDS: LOCAL GUSTS OF 30 TO 40 MPH MAY PRECEDE THESE
STORMS AND RADIATE OUTWARD FROM NEARBY STORMS.
* IMPACTS: NEW FIRE STARTS FROM LIGHTNING AS WELL AS EXISTING FIRE
GROWTH FROM ERRATIC AND GUSTY THUNDER OUTFLOW WINDS. HEAVY
DOWNPOURS ON RECENT BURN SCARS MAY ALSO TRIGGER FLASH FLOODS AND
DEBRIS FLOWS.
