The Grand Coulee Planning Agency will hold a public hearing on September 9, 2014 to consider amending City Zoning concerning maximum lot coverage. The public hearing will begin at 6:30 p.m., prior to the regularly scheduled council meeting, in the City Council Chambers at City Hall, 306 Midway Avenue. City hall is accessible for persons with disabilities.

Public Nomination for the 2014-15 Highly Capable Program
Referrals for consideration of participation in Grand Coulee Dam School District’s Highly Capable Program for the 2014-15 school year are currently being accepted. Anyone may refer a student including parents, teachers, other students and members of the community.
Highly Capable Services are designed to address the unique needs of highly capable students in grades K-12. Student identified as highly capable of high academic and intellectual ability will have an opportunity to explore concepts in greater depth and further develop their thinking and creativity. There will be a continuum of service options for students depending on their grade level.
Nominations will be accepted for currently enrolled students in grades K-12 from August 26-October 1, 2014. Nominations will be accepted from parents, teachers and community members for initial screening for participation in the Highly Capable Program.
To participate in the program, students must meet very rigorous criteria and be selected by their school’s multidisciplinary team which includes an administrator, teachers, and the School Psychologist.
GCDSD Highly Capable Identification Process:
Public nominations accepted: August 26-October 1, 2014. Anyone interested in nominating a child to be assessed for program eligibility can download district nomination forms from http://www.gcdsd.org Nomination forms will also be available at the Grand Coulee Dam School District office located at 110 Stevens Ave, Coulee Dam, WA. Forms will be available at the Lake Roosevelt Elementary School office or Lake Roosevelt Jr/Sr. High School office after September 2, 2014.
Please return completed nomination forms to either the Grand Coulee Dam School District Office or FAX to 509-633-2530. After September 2, 2014 please bring completed forms to the student’s school.
Nominations will be screened by each school’s HCP selection committee composed of teachers, counselors/psychologists, and administrators using multiple objective criteria in accordance to WAC 392-170-045 for creativity and achievement.
Cognitive Testing: The HCP building selection committee will identify students for additional cognitive testing who demonstrate evidence supporting highly qualified characteristics.
HCP school selection committee(s) will analyze achievement and cognitive student data to determine placement.
Letters will be mailed to parents announcing the committee’s decision for eligibility.

THIS MATTER came before this Court on June 3, 2014, regarding a Petition for Custody filed by the Petitioners, Christel Pitner, Carol & Ray Estrada requesting custody of the minors, Amanda Marconi, DOB: 12/10/2002; Logan Marconi, DOB: 12/08/2004; Devon T. Hobrecht, DOB: 04/14/2001. Present was the Petitioner, Carol Estrada. Not present was the Respondents, Tarence Marconi, Tara Horbecht, Vitolee & Deborah Marconi and the Petitioners, Christel Pitner and Ray Estrada. All parties were served with today’s notice of hearing at their last known addresses.
The Court, being fully advised in the premises, finds that the court should allow service by substituted service as to the respondent, Tara Hobrecht.
Now, therefore
IT IS ORDERED that:
A notice shall be published in the Tribal Tribune for two consecutive issues or a newspaper in the area in which the respondent resides, which says the following: A lawsuit has been filed against you in the above-stated Court by the Petitioner above. In order to defend against this lawsuit, you must answer the Petition for Custody by stating your defense in writing and filing it by mail or in person upon the Petitioners. If you fail to do this within (20) twenty days if living on the Colville Indian Reservation and (30) thirty days if you live off the Colville Indian Reservation, after the date of the first publication of this Summons, a default judgment may be entered against you. A default judgment is one where the Petitioner is entitled to receive what they are asking for in the Petition because you have not answered the complaint in writing. A Custody Trial has been set for September 9, 2014 at 9:00 a.m., at the Colville Tribal Courthouse 3, Joe Moses Road, Nespelem Agency Nespelem, Washington.
2. Additionally, this notice shall be posted at the Colville Tribal Headquarters and the Tribal Courthouse for three consecutive weeks.
