8/25 - Police received a call from dispatch that there was a car prowl going on in the 1st Street area. A woman told the officer that a man had the hood up of a car and was looking inside. A check on the car showed that the battery was missing. Police went to a location in the Delano area where there was a similar car and found a man who said he was the one looking under the hood and he was just trying to determine how a part fit together. He was told not to look under the hood of any car without the owner’s permission. A check of his battery showed it had been in the car a long time.
8/27 - Police assisted the Grant County Sheriff’s office in determining the extent of injuries to youth involved in a vehicle accident out of the area but who was being treated in the hospital here.
- A business owner had a woman banned from his business after an argument on the paying of a bill. She stated that she wanted to make the check out to the firm but that the owner insisted that she make it out to him.
- A man from Mansfield told police that he was at Spring Canyon camp ground and saw a person dump two containers in the water. He was told to report it to the National Park Service or Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
8/28 - Police checked the Grand Coulee Dam Middle School after they found the back door propped open by a large rock. They didn’t find anyone inside.
- Plant Protection reported finding two bicycles behind the restrooms below the Visitor Center. There had been no report of stolen bicycles in the area.
- A man in Electric City advised dispatch there was a warrant for his arrest and he wanted to turn himself in. A policeman went to the address on Stevens Avenue, where the man said he had missed his court date but couldn’t recall what the offense was, what county it was in or which court. The patrolman checked and couldn’t find any warrant on the man. The officer suggested the man call the courts and get a new date for an appearance.
- A man reported that a loaner car he had was broken down near Granger Road. He was advised to call a wrecker. Police stood by for traffic control until the wrecker arrived.
8/29 - A Nespelem man was arrested after an incident in the parking lot of the Sky Deck Motel. Officers found a man intoxicated who had been in a fight. The man allegedly fought with two officers. They are asking the prosecutor to issue charges of third-degree assault, resisting arrest and malicious mischief.
- A driver was stopped near Alcan Road where the officer found that he didn’t have a driver’s license. When asked why he was driving without a license he responded, “I don’t know.” He was cited for the license offense, and for not having insurance or a registration. A licensed driver was found to take charge of the vehicle.
- Police checked on a woman reportedly considering suicide. They found her, and she stated she was fine and had no intention of harming herself.
- The report of a naked man wandering down the street in front of Center Elementary School brought a police patrol. The man was found in the alley behind Flo’s Restaurant. When asked where his clothes were the man said, “at home” and that he didn’t “think he needed them today,” police said. Police arrested him on an outstanding warrant and for indecent exposure. They took him to Grant County Jail.
- Police responded to a two-vehicle accident at Four Corners, where a driver had run into the back of another vehicle. One woman was taken to Coulee Medical Center for treatment.
- Police went to a location below the Visitor Center where there was a report of an argument going on. The patrolman found a man with a suitcase who had been ordered from a vehicle. He was referred to a pay phone to call for a ride.
- Plant Protection advised that someone was taking pictures of Station 5 and the Administration Building. The person was found at Riley Point and asked to delete the pictures.
- Police went to Sunbanks Lake Resort upon learning that about 30 people were causing a disturbance. Two campsites were being loud during the resort’s quiet time and were warned that if they continued the noise they would have to leave. Those making the noise stated they would quiet down.
- A Nespelem woman who had been stopped the day before was stopped again by the same officer. She’d had two prior stops for driving with a suspended license. She was informed that if she was caught again the vehicle would be towed. She was cited for driving with a suspended license, for failing to carry her vehicle registration and for not having insurance.
8/31 - An officer was requested to stand by at Coulee Medical Center while a woman was committed for a mental health issue.
9/1 - A Coulee Dam driver was stopped on a warrant, but when checking with Grant County’s jail the officer learned that the jail was under restrictions and didn’t have room. The man was cited for not having a license and was told to find a licensed driver to come for the vehicle.

8/24 - A suspicious person report on Holly Street turned out to be a hungry person looking for food in dumpsters. The person was advised not to do that.
8/27 - A driver got a verbal warning on Columbia Avenue after being stopped for a defective taillight.
- Two River Drive motorists were stopped and given a verbal warning on defective headlamp issues.
- A driver who failed to stop coming onto River Drive was given a verbal warning by police.
8/28 - A homeowner on Camas Street found a lizard in his yard and reported it to police. The homeowner said he would see if one of his neighbors owned the lizard.
8/30 - A man on Birch Street reported to police that $5,860 in fraudulent charges were made to his credit card account. He has been in contact with the credit card company in regard to the charges.
8/30 - A man was cited when a patrol officer clocked him at 50 mph going over the Columbia River Bridge.
