Patrick John Kane passed away Tuesday morning, Sept. 2, 2014, at home on the farm in Rock Creek Valley east of Fairfield, Wash. Pat was born on March 14, 1944, at Wenatchee, Wash., to Patrick Albert Kane and Anna Laura (Gossett) Kane. He grew up on the Kane Family farm between Hartline and Wilson Creek, Wash. Pat farmed with his dad most of his life.
Pat attended Wilson Creek Grade School and graduated from Coulee City High School in 1962. He then attended Big Bend and Columbia Basin Community Colleges obtaining associate degrees in Ag Mechanics, Auto Body, and Landscaping.
Pat married Jennie E. Morford on April 19, 1974, at Tekoa, Wash. The couple made their home east of Fairfield where they farmed. They had three sons, all who were Washington State University graduates.
Thirteen years ago, Pat stated farming on his own with his sons’ help. He continued to farm until health reasons forced him to retire earlier this year.
His hobbies and interests all revolved around farming. Pat was a loving husband, father, grandfather, neighbor and friend to all.
He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Jennie E. Kane, sons: Patrick Jay (Sarah) Kane of Tekoa, Wash.; Jerry Lee Kane of Fairfield;and Wes-ton Cecil (Sarah) Kane of Palouse, Wash.; 4 grandchildren: Torin, Ryan, Garrett, and Kasey Anne Kane. Also surviving are brothers Kenneth (Dee) Kane of Colville, Wash., Wayne (Jeanne) Kane of Pasco, Wash., and sister Rozanne (Bob) Thompson of Snoqualmie, Wash.
He was preceded in death by a brother John Kane, a sister Colleen Kane and his parents, Patrick and Anna Kane.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Sept. 6, 2014, at 2 p.m., at the Tekoa Community Church. Pastor Mark Mewhinney officiated at the service and burial followed at Goldenrod Cemetery in Tekoa.
Kramer Funeral Home of Tekoa, is handling the arrangements.
