As summer wanes, where will we bargain shop?

C'est Le Vie

Now that we’re into the great fall cool down here in Coulee County, it’s been great to have a few days of crisp, clear mornings, warm, sunny afternoons and cool evenings once the sun sets. So, spend some quality time outdoors and then kick back (or sit back) inside someplace watching football. Go for broke, Seahawks.

And as summer wanes, so goes our favorite pastime. But luckily we’ve had no shortage of junk and estate sales around here, and from the looks of the hordes of hearty shoppers out and about, it’s been a shoppers’ paradise.

Let’s keep our fingers crossed and if we luck out later this winter, a seller or two will keep us going by holding an indoor sale in a garage or a workshop — or even a sale outside under a carport will do just fine. We’ll dress up for the occasion, wearing cold weather duds, and we’ll be happy to show up, come rain or shine. A die hard bargain shopper most likely agrees that bad weather is not a deterrent if you have a set of winter tires on your vehicle, a tank of gas and some change to spare. Here’s the message: if you set up a sale, we will be there. Ka. Ching!

Just so you know, this column, CLV, and my corny commentary on junking, bargain hunting, yard/estate sale hopping, and whatever really important stuff comes to mind that I’ve been sharing with you, off and on for several months, has run its course. CLV is used as a filler here at The Star newspaper and the last C’est La Vie column appeared in the Sept. 3 edition, so space has not been available since that edition. Anyway, as the old-timey saying goes: To make a long story short, I’m looking at an online version of CLV, which will allow me to share gobs of stuff whenever, and circle the world while I’m at it.

You’ll be the first to know, so catch you all later. Bonjour!
