Obituary
John Wesley Combs Sr., went to be with our Lord on Friday. Sept. 26, 2014, in Omak, Wash.
John was born to Lorin and Eduth Combs Sr., on February 20, 1941, in Combs, Ark. His family moved to the Okanogan Valley area where John and his siblings attended school He graduated from Okanogan High School in 1959.
John married Judith Barber and the two moved to Hudson, N.Y., where John worked and they began their family. In the early to mid 1960s, John and Judith along with their two young sons moved back to the Okanogan Valley area to be near family and raise their boys. John worked at the sawmill for 30 years as a sawyer.
John was an avid hunter and fisherman. He especially loved fishing at Omak Lake. John liked building black powder rifles and blacksmithing. Most of his hobbies consisted of home improvements and repairs. John built an additional bedroom and added on a sunroom where he and Judith could enjoy a cup of coffee while watching the sunrise.
John was preceded in death by both his parents; his wife Judith of 49 years and four siblings.
He leaves behind his two sons: Lorin (Becky) Combs of Omak, John (Elaine) Combs Jr., of Grand Coulee; two brothers: Jerry (Dixie) Combs Sr., of Malott and James ( Lois) Combs of Okanogan; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial celebration of John’s life will be held on Saturday, Nov. 15, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Conconully, Wash., at the Little White Church. A luncheon will follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to any medical research of your family’s choice.
