Obituary
Joyce Fleischman, age 66, a longtime resident of the Grand Coulee Dam area and Moses Lake, lost her fight with cancer on Sunday, September 28, 2014.
She was born May 11, 1948 in Regensburg, Germany, to Robert Goerisch and Helen Hayes Goerisch. She graduated Mountlake Terrace HS (Edmonds, WA) in 1966.
In 1976, she married George Lewis White. They and their two children resided in Moses Lake. In Moses Lake she worked at American Potato Co.
Joyce married Darrel Fleischman 1980. They lived in Longview, WA and Leavenworth, WA, moving to the Grand Coulee Dam area in 1986, where they've stayed to the present. She enjoyed working in her garden, yard-saling, and attending her son and grandson's sports activities. She also enjoyed travelling, reading, walking, and keeping up with her family, friends and former classmates on Facebook.
She had a number of jobs in this area: Broadcast operator at KEYG, school bus driver for the Nespelem and Grand Coulee Dam school districts, and cashier at Jackson's Chevron Service in Nespelem.
She retired in springtime, 2014.
Joyce is survived by her husband Darrel, at home (Elmer City); her son Brandon White (Belvedere) and wife Stacey, and Justin White (Ogden, UT), three brothers, Frederick Goerisch (FL) and wife Inna, Robert Goerisch Jr. (Spanaway, WA), and Bruce Goerisch (England) and wife Rosemary; grandson Gaven White, granddaughters Rhiannon and Peyton White (Bremerton). Also numerous nieces and nephews and their families. She had many friends in this area and beyond who miss her.
She believed in God and is probably trading cuttings with Him now.
At Joyce's request, no formal memorial service will be conducted. Her cremains will be deposited in her garden 7 months from now (springtime, her favorite season) with invited family and friends present. She'd like those who want to send flowers, to make small donations to the American Cancer Society.
