Three Lady Raiders named to all-league teams

Sean Garvin, Areielle White, and Kammi Rosenbaum were all named to the Central Washington 2B North All League Volleyball squads.

Sean Garvin is the only freshman on the First Team. Areielle White is the Second Team Libero. Kammi Rosenbaum was given an honorable mention.

For a Freshman to make first team is a feat. Head Coach Nate Piturachsatit had much praise for Garvin.

“She has put so much time into the game of volleyball, that even though young, she is as experienced as most seniors,” her coach said. “As a setter Garvin was a great addition to the Lady Raiders offensively. … We were able to run set plays and run other offensive sets at teams that we haven’t been able to in the past. This gave us a huge advantage and all the other coaches in the league recognized that.”

Piturachsatit is now looking forward to the growth and leadership Garvin will have over the next three years.

White plays an often looked over spot of libero. Most libero’s barely get noticed by the fans except for the different color jersey.

“She does so much that doesn’t always get recognized,” Piturachsatit said. “She also was highly praised by the other coaches.”

“Her speed and skill as a passer keeps our team in games and allows the other girls opportunities to make plays,” he said.

Senior Kammi Rosenbaum is one of the three varsity Lady Raiders who will not return next season. Rosenbaum has played all four years, two on the varsity.

“She was our team captain and has come a long way in helping produce for the team,” Piturachsatit said. “She went from being a great server last year to a hitter and a server this year.”

The coach highlighted the multifaceted nature of Rosenbaum’s play, which he said is something all volleyball players need to have. “We were able to get production from her in many more ways, and that is what we need from our players,” he said.
