12/7 - Police went to a house on Stevens Avenue in Electric City on a report that a Nespelem man had been hit over the head with a beer bottle. Police went inside and found the injured man holding a bandana over his head. He told police to “get out” and that they were not welcome. Police waited on the porch for medical staff to arrive and when things got under control left the premises.
12/19 - A man living on Continental Heights told police that he is being harassed by another tenant. He is trying to get an anti-harassment order from the courts.
- A man stopped because the red reflector was broken from his tail light told police that his driver’s license was valid but he had left it at home. But upon checking, the officer found that his license had expired over 16 months ago. The driver said he didn’t know his license had expired because his dog had “chewed up” his driver’s license. He was cited.
12/20 - Police were called to Banks Lake Pub at 2:30 a.m. in regard to a 23-year-old woman who had been sitting outside on a bench for about four hours and was extremely cold. The officer had her sit in his warm patrol car until medical personnel came and took the woman to Coulee Medical Center.
- Plant Protection advised police of a man sitting on the guard rail near the overlook just above Grand Coulee Dam waving his hands every time a car went by. Police found the man walking along SR-155, who said he was just going to his home in Grand Coulee. He was told to stay out of the roadway.
- A woman told police that when she went to check her mail she saw an elderly man in his pajamas walking in the rain along SR-174. Police contacted the man, who said he was “cold and wet” but that he was okay. He said he was out walking exercising his legs and that he didn’t know his address but knew where his house was. He was unable to give the officer his birthdate. His wife later came by in a pickup and told the officer that her husband suffered from dementia and often walked away from the house.
12/21 - An officer was advised of a man in the closed area below the Visitor Center. Police found the man, who appeared as if he was trying to avoid contact, and saw that he had a large contusion on his forehead that had been bandaged. He told police he had been treated at the hospital. Because he was heavily intoxicated, the report stated, and upon his request, he was given a ride to the Coulee Dam Casino.
- Police were called to Continental Heights because a woman complained that her apartment neighbor was playing his music too loud. Police went inside the woman’s apartment and could clearly hear the music coming from next door. The officer went next door and advised the tenant that his music was too loud. He argued and said the officer was taking advantage of him because he was a disabled veteran. The man also told the officer that he was in violation for talking with him. He was told again to turn the music down. Later, dispatch called the officer and said the man had complained about how the officer had treated him. He was told to take his complaint to the chief.
12/22 - Police went to a Diamond Street location in Electric City to assist with a report that an elderly man had fallen. Police had been to the residence for the same reason on a number of other occasions. His daughter said it was worse this time. After trying to assist the man, the ambulance was called to take him to Coulee Medical Center.
- An officer responded to a report that there was a lot of yelling going on in an apartment on Continental Heights. He could only hear laughter and joking, and when he knocked at the door, those inside said nothing was amiss. So he left.
- USBR Plant Protection advised police that there were some fishermen inside an area closed to the public. The officer found three men inside the area with fishing gear. They were advised the area was closed and agreed to leave. Later an officer checked on a report of more people inside the closed area, but found that these fishermen were in a legal area.
- Dispatch advised police that there was a trespass in progress at the apartment laundry room on Hill Avenue. Police found an intoxicated man who had passed out there. The man was on his feet when police arrived and told the officer that he “just didn’t quite make it home.” The manager of the apartment complex stated he didn’t want to press charges and the man left on foot to go home, a few blocks away.
12/23 - An Electric City man residing in an apartment on Coulee Boulevard in Electric City told police that someone during the night had damaged his vehicle by running into it. He said damage was to the quarter panel, driver’s door and front bumper cover. He was given an estimate of $3,500 to repair his vehicle. He said he heard a noise about 10 p.m. looked out but couldn’t see anything.

12/17 - Police stopped a Montana-licensed vehicle on River Drive because it was all over the road. The driver admitted that she’d probably had too much to drink. Since she was a tribal member from Nespelem, a Tribal Police officer was called. Later, the Coulee Dam officer drove the woman to her residence, then went to Tribal Police to fill out the report.
12/20 - Police stopped two vehicles with headlamps out at different times.
12/21 - A vehicle on River Drive was stopped because it didn’t have any lights on. All the other lights worked except the running lights. The driver said he would go to a service station to see if the lights could be fixed.
12/22 - A woman on Pine Street told police that her ex-boyfriend took her 2-year-old without permission and there was a court order in place requiring the man to return the child. Police were assisting in the serving of the court order.
- A woman on Central Drive told police that she had slapped her 17-year-old daughter after learning she had been doing drugs and before she left the premises with her 18-year-old boyfriend. The woman said that her daughter and boyfriend had been in an argument and that the boy bit her daughter. The daughter was found and questioned and said the argument was only verbal and that her mother was always blowing things out of proportion.
