Marissa Roxanne Gonzalez

Marissa Roxanne Gonzalez of Grand Coulee, Wash., was born in Brewster, Wash., to Oscar and Angela Gonzalez on June 4, 1993. Marissa was welcomed into heaven on Saturday, Dec. 27, 2014, at approximately 3:40 a.m.

Marissa was diagnosed with Lupus at the age of seven. She courageously battled multiple illnesses over the years after being diagnosed with Lupus. She finally succumbed to the side effects of the current diseases of NMO and DIC.

Grand Coulee became Marissa's home in 1999 and was where she attended school until her graduation on June 4, 2011. She was in the top ten of her class. She had a very compassionate and gentle heart and wished to attend college where she could become a child life specialist. Unfortunately her illnesses prevented this and she had to return home for treatment.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents Joe and Lucille McCracken, her grandpa Jerry Routon, Tia Patsy Gonzalez and Connie Bannard.

Marissa is survived by her mom and step-dad, Angela Gonzalez and Pat Kiedrowski, her dad and step-mom, Oscar and Jenny Gonzalez, her sisters Erica and Jessica Gonzalez, her brother Zachary Brown, her step-brothers John and Khris Kiedrowski, her step-sister MiShala Kiedrowski, step-brother Gilbert Romero and step-sister Sasha Romero, her great-grandma Jean Routon, her maternal grandparents Ray and Kathy Clover and her paternal grandparents Oscar Sr and Francisca Gonzalez. She is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins, too many to name.

Our family gives a very heartfelt thank you to Wendy Hughes and the multitude of staff at CMC. These kind souls took care of Marissa in the beginning of her being diagnosed with Lupus, and until she departed from us. We hold a very special place in our hearts for her best friend Rachel Hughes, for always being a true friend, they are sisters at heart.

Marissa will be truly missed. Most importantly; No More Fear. No More Pain. For she is now whole, at home with our Heavenly Father, and with family that we know were waiting for her as she left our world for everlasting life in paradise.

A celebration of Marissa's life will take place at noon on Friday, Jan. 2, 2015 at the Grand Coulee Church of the Nazarene.

Please sign Marissa's on-line register book at http://www.stratefuneralhome.com. Strate Funeral Home of Grand Coulee is honored to be serving Marissa's family.
