Police
1/27 - A resident on Ronald Drive was mailed an infraction notice for noisy dogs because the homeowner was not in. Police had received complaints about the dogs several times.
- Police were called to the Grand Coulee Veterinary Clinic, where a loose dog outside was causing problems for people entering or leaving the clinic. Police followed the dog to a residence on Burdin Boulevard and saw a person there let the dog in. The owner will be charged with having a dog at large, no license for the animal, and it being potentially dangerous.
- Police were called to a local business when it was reported that someone might be trying to enter after hours. Police eventually talked to four boys with skateboards who said they were just using the firm’s Wi-Fi. The four were told to stay away from businesses when it is closed.
- Police asked a vehicle with five people inside to leave the North Dam Park area because it was after hours. They did.
- A woman on Burdin Boulevard reported that two suspicious males were loading tires in a vehicle after dark. Police contacted the two and the resident of the property and it was reported that the two had permission to take the tires.
1/28 - A woman on Hill Avenue called police to report that she had asked a woman to leave her residence and she refused. Police went to the residence and was told that when the occupant woke up she found this woman in a bedroom and asked her to leave. Police told the woman that if she returned she would be subject to a trespass citation.
- An officer stopped a man who was known as having his license suspended. He was cited for this and for not having insurance.
1/29 - A woman on Sunset Drive in Electric City reported that a dangerous dog was trying to jump the fence and attack her goats. The dog was gone when police arrived.
1/30 - A woman from Electric Boulevard in Electric City told police that at 7:15 each morning a vehicle runs the stop sign at Electric Boulevard and Crest.
1/31 - A woman who lives on Burdin Boulevard told police that a neighbor had “flipped” her off while she was at the coffee stand at Coulee Gas.
- Police checked on a report that there might be a burglary in progress at a house on Jackson Avenue in Electric City. Police checked on the residence and couldn’t find forced entry, and they tried the front door, which was opened. The officers entered and found five people inside who seemed confused and apologized and left. The reporting party had given them the wrong house address. The officers then checked on the correct house and found everything was OK.
2/1 - A woman living on Burdin Boulevard called to report dogs running loose. An officer responded but couldn’t find the dogs.
2/2 - A caller reported that there were two people outside on 5th Street NE, in Electric City, who appeared ready to fight. Police went to the location and found a man and a woman who had been arguing but agreed they were not going to fight.

1/26 - A man on Cedar Street told police that he had found a small glass container with a white powder inside in his child’s bedroom and wanted it tested for drugs. Police did a test, which turned out negative, and indicated the officer would send it to the state lab for testing.
A man complained to police that his nephew had been pushed and assaulted on the playground at Lake Roosevelt High School. The boy told school officials that a girl bumped him, and he bumped into another boy, who shoved him against the wall and then hit him, breaking his glasses in his pocket. The boy accused of hitting the other boy said that the boy had kicked him in the groin. The school is sending the report off to the juvenile prosecutor’s office for review.
- Police were advised by a recovery outfit that they had repossessed a vehicle from a resident on Tilmus.
1/29 - Police responded to an ambulance call for help on Columbia Avenue and found a woman on oxygen who was having trouble breathing. The woman’s daughter arrived and assisted until the Grand Coulee ambulance crew arrived. Grand Coulee responded because Coulee Dam didn’t have personnel available.
- A woman on River Drive reported that she thought she’d heard gun shots. An officer arrived, and then got a call that a car was blocking the roadway near the football field.
The officer later advised the woman that he would patrol the area. On checking the stalled car, the officer learned from the driver that the wheel of her vehicle had come off the back of her car and rolled out in front of the car. A tow was called for and Jackson’s Chevron responded and towed the car away.
- A boy who attended a basketball game at Lake Roosevelt High said his car had been damaged by someone who had kicked a dent in his right front fender and then keyed his side door. The car had been parked near the Mormon church. Police estimated the damage at $3,000.
- Police stopped a car that was going 67 mph in a 35 mph zone on the Elmer City Access Road. The driver was ticketed.
1/30 - A woman told police that her car was parked near the high school gym with kids inside and the motor running and she was locked out. She said she got out of the car to get her wallet from her husband and one of the kids locked the doors. A school teacher was able to get the door unlocked before a man from Bird’s Auto got there to help the woman.
