2/3 - Police checked on a vehicle parked in the lower powerhouse parking lot that didn’t have a company placard displayed. Police found that the vehicle belonged to an authorized firm.
2/4 - A man in Continental Heights reported that his wife was missing. By the time police arrived the man found her standing in the back yard soaking wet. He explained to officers that his wife was suffering from dementia and police had the man warm her while waiting for the ambulance’s arrival to take her to Coulee Medical Center.
- A man on Roosevelt Drive reported that dogs nearby continually bark. Police advised the owner that she needed to take care of the dogs and if more complaints are received she could be cited.
- Officers stood by while an abandoned vehicle blocking the road at the intersection of Midway and Federal was moved.
2/5 - A Nespelem man will be charged with a number of violations stemming from an incident that occurred Oct. 6. The music from his car was so loud, it attracted the attention of an officer, who then found that the driver’s license was suspended. Police found a smoking pipe with residue that was confirmed by the Washington State Laboratory as methamphetamines, and also additional illegal drug material. The vehicle was towed and charges were filed after lab tests were returned by the WSP.
- Police followed a vehicle being driven by a person known to have a suspended license and outdated license plate tabs. Police said they found a spring-loaded knife, a pipe containing methamphetamines, a digital scale and four pills of Zanax not in a prescription bottle. The man admitted to having smoked meth within the past two hours. He did not have insurance on the vehicle.
- Police went to the veterinary clinic, where three juveniles had brought a dog because they feared the owner planned to shoot it. The mother of the owner of the dog came and retrieved it.
- Police got a report that three juveniles had been in Body By Dam using the equipment and not being members. Police told the trio that they were not to enter the gym again or they could be cited for trespassing.
2/6 - Police stopped a vehicle as it passed Riley Point for speeding. The Spokane driver said he was speeding to get away from an 18-wheeler that was “on their butts,” and as he was telling the officer about it the truck passed. The truck was later stopped, the driver questioned, and police got the number of his supervisor. A report will be made to his company of the incident.
2/7 - Police advised two women who were texting each other to stop. Police advised each that the other wanted them to stop. One woman, from Grand Coulee, told police that she feels threatened and will defend herself “with any means possible.” The police report stated that the woman carries a gun and knows how to use it. Police advised the woman to “keep in mind what she is doing.”
- A Moses Lake driver known to police here was stopped when they noticed that the vehicle he was driving had expired plates. In addition, he had an opened container of alcohol and no proof of insurance. While looking through the vehicle, officers found methamphetamine, determined that he had failed to transfer title to the vehicle and that he had made false statements to the police. His car was towed and he was taken to Grant County Jail.
2/8 - A Soap Lake man had his vehicle towed after an officer stopped him for having a faulty side tail light. The officer found the man didn’t have a valid driver’s license, no registration and no proof of insurance. He was cited and the vehicle was towed. The man left on foot.
- A Grand Coulee man was stopped after an officer noticed that he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was on his cell phone. He was cited for these infractions and also for not having insurance.
- An Electric City man was cited for not stopping at the intersection at Taylor and SR-155 in Electric City.
