Sewer plant

updated meeting

The town of Coulee Dam will hold a wastewater treatment meeting, Wednesday, Feb. 25, beginning at 5 p.m. at town hall. The findings of an alternative analysis for updating the town’s plant will be discussed. The town has been encouraging citizens to attend. “We want to hear from you,” a postcard to residents said this week.

Blood drive

scheduled

The Inland Northwest Blood Center, along with Grand Coulee Community Blood Drive Volunteers led by Sommer Hicks, will conduct a blood drive from 11:30 - 5 p.m., Monday, Feb. 23, at the Coulee Medical Center Professional Building B. The INBC needs 200 blood donors every day to meet the needs of more than 35 hospitals in the Inland Northwest.

New fire fighters

The Coulee Dam Town Council approved the applications of two new volunteer fire fighters at its meeting last Wednesday night. Applicants were Travis Irwin and Tia Chambers.

Chamber liquor

license gets nod

The Coulee Dam council gave its approval on a liquor license request from the Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce for Dec. 5, 2015. Official approval comes from the State Liquor Control Board, but these requests are run by cities and towns for local comment, if any.

The occasion is the chamber’s annual wine tasting and auction event scheduled for the town’s community room.

Tourism group

to meet here

The Coulee Corridor Consortium will hold its monthly meeting , Friday Feb. 20 at noon, at Pepper Jack’s Bar & Grill. The public is invited to attend and learn of the activity of the group. The Coulee Corridor stretches from Othello to Omak.
