Golf course is officially open

Banks Lake Golf Course is officially open for play.

Course Manager Michael Parisian said many local golfers have been taking advantage of the good spring weather.

Play has been especially active on weekends at the 18-hole course.

Parisian encourages local golfers to get their memberships taken care of as soon as possible.

He said the course thanks the following for making financial contributions to pump the courses bathrooms out: Mike Higgins, $100; Dick Brockway, $100; Darrel Dick, $100; Sandra Sheehy, $400; Herb and Linda Sherburne, $100; and the Men’s Club, $200.

Parisian also wanted to thank the course’s many volunteers for what they do to help keep the course in shape.

The 18-hole course is owned and managed by Port District 7.
