Repairs underway

Workers install a temporary walkway below the spillgates on Grand Coulee Dam recently. The walkways help during maintenance of the gates, which lower to let water spill over the dam. The work can only be done when the level of Lake Roosevelt is below the level of the gates. It was about 33 feet below the full level Tuesday and should go down two more feet, to 1,255 feet above sea level, by March 15 to make the maintenance work possible. - Nora Jenn photo
