Lavone Mary Nelson

Lavone Mary Nelson, 86, of Moses Lake Wash., passed away on Thursday, March 19, 2015, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee Wash. Lavone was born April 14, 1928, in Longview, Wash., to George Jinks Buzard and Leota Amelia Nix. She grew up in Georgetown, Seattle Wash., near Seattle as well as Beach Drive (near Alki Point) in West Seattle. She graduated from Cleveland High School in Seattle.

Lavone married Wallace Nelson in June of 1950, and they made their home in Seattle. In 1986 they moved to Orting Wash., and in 1999 moved to Elmer City Wash. They loved to travel, especially to the ocean, as well as visiting with family and friends. Lavone loved to crochet afghans for loved ones and friends, as well as cooking and baking. She loved flowers and watching the birds, and she loved her cat Perky.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years who passed away in August of 2000.

She is survived by her daughters: Paula (Allen) Comer of Auburn Wash., Helen (Robert) Bond of Coulee Dam Wash.; grandchildren: Eric (Alanna) Comer, Roger (Teresa) Comer, Ryan (Shannon Sierra) Comer, Heather Bond, Stephanie Bond, Andrea (Ryan) Anderson, Sarah Bond, Levi Bond, Rachelle (Cameron) Spear, Charles Bond, Robert L. Bond Jr., and Laura Bond; great grandchildren: Ethan Anderson, Violet Anderson, Ollie Spear, Madelyn Spear, Zachary Comer.

Funeral Services will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 806 Spruce in Coulee Dam on Saturday, March 28, 2015, at 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held at Spring Canyon Cemetery following the funeral service.
