Lady Raiders close season at 2-18

Lady Raider softball ended its season at Pateros May 15 with two losses.

The final overall win-loss record for LR was 2-18 with a 2-14 Central Washington North record.

“We have a very young team returning to next year’s roster, only losing two seniors,” Head Coach Jamie Lezard on the season and what he hopes to see in 2016. “We hope that we have a great turnout next season, and we are excited (for) the newcomers and looking forward to the next season.”

On May 12 at home the Lady Raiders had hosted to the Tonasket Tigers for Senior Night.

In the first game, Lake Roosevelt lost by 10 to the Tigers, 16-6. In the second game, the score was closer at 29-24.

Kourtney Harrington pitched the first game for five innings, recording three strikeouts and 13 walks. Savannah Marin took to the mound in the second, pitching three strikeouts and one walk. At the plate, Kayla St. Pierre went three for five on the day with five runs batted in and five steals.

In the second game, Marin backed up her pitching with a four-of-five performance at the plate, with two RBIs and five steals. In the first game, Sean Garvin was two of three with an RBI and three steals.

At Pateros Friday, the Lady Raiders ended the season, losing both games of the doubleheader to the Nannies by the finals of 13-3 and 15-0. Harrington pitched the first game, recording two strikeouts and six walks. In the second game, Tristen Adolph pitched for three innings, recording four strikeouts and three walks.

For the season, the Lady Raiders batting average was .379 with 20 doubles and four triples. LR scored 113 runs and recorded 88 RBIs. On the mound, the Lady Raiders recorded 75 strikeouts to 172 walks and 35 hit by pitch.
