Tweens already

A mother osprey hovers near her three chicks at their nest in Coulee Dam Monday. During the recent heat, the parent birds stood over the chicks to shade them atop the 100-foot pole erected when new high power line tower construction made moving the nest from an old tower necessary. Now, says photographer Nora Jenn, this year's chicks are not quite ready to take flight, but that will come soon, and people will be able to see the chicks learning to fish.
