Raiders have already bested last year's record

The Raiders exceeded their football win total from 2014 last Friday night as they defeated the Manson Trojans 28-12 at home.

"We had great effort from start to finish," Head Coach Geary Oliver said. "We had a great week of practice, and our kids worked hard to correct last week's mistakes. We are learning how to play for each other as a team."

Oliver said Manson "is a good team, and they executed their scheme well, but this week we won the turnover battle."

Oliver noted that "Beau Michel had an outstanding offensive game, and Jake Palmer dominated on defense."

Michel ran for 154 yards and two touchdowns. Palmer had seven tackles and a sack.

Oliver commented on the leadership of quarterback Chance Garvin, who threw for 78 yards, including a touchdown to Nathaniel Hall.

"Chance Garvin is showing great leadership," Oliver said, "keeping the offense focused and on track." On defense, Garvin had two tackles and two key interceptions.

Jesse Louie ran for 141 yards and a touchdown, and contributed six tackles and an interception.

This week the Raiders host another home game, the Central Washington 2B South opener. LR faces the Warden Cougars, who defeated River View 64-6 last week.

"We face a very physical opponent who has scored a lot of points in every game and only given up over 20 points in one game," said Oliver of the 3-1 Warden Cougars.

The Friday night game starts at 7 p.m. at Greene Field.
