The final juice extraction event at Shaw's Fruit and Produce in Belvedere on Monday yielded 60 gallons of fresh apple cider. "The way it works, it becomes a community event," noted appreciative employee Carla Tonasket, who took the photo of employees and volunteers around the apple press. The enterprise is for sale and owner Roy Hamilton has said he will not reopen next spring. Stopping for the photo at "the last squeeze," as Hamilton called it, are, from left: Joy McClure, George LaPlace, Bob Sackville-West, Pete Rawson, Roy Hamilton, Diane Rawson and Sara Shanning. - Carla Timentwa photo
