The Raiders travelled a long way to Mabton to play a team that is ranked highly in the state ,and played like it. The Mabton Vikings defeated Lake Roosevelt 65-14.
“We continue to play hard,” Head Coach Geary Oliver said of his team’s performance. “Mabton is ranked sixth in the state, and for good reason.”
Oliver noted a good performance from Jesse Louie.
“Jesse Louie continues to run well and is one of our leading receivers,” he said.
After the loss, Oliver said, he received a compliment from the Mabton coaches that he has heard in other games this season when playing ranked teams: “We have received comments from all three of those coaches regarding our competitive spirit.”
This Friday the Raiders host the White Swan Cougars for homecoming night at Greene Field in Coulee Dam starting at 7 p.m.
“We are preparing for a physical contest with an opponent that has a strong running game and a good defense,” Oliver said.
White Swan comes into the game with a 0-5 win-loss record, averaging just 11 points per game while allowing their opponents to score an average of 35 points per game.
