Lake Roosevelt and White Swan played a scoreless first half before the Cougars wore down the Raiders and won 31-12 at the LR homecoming game Friday night.
The loss puts LR's win-loss record at 0-3 in Central Washington 2B South play, and at 2-4 overall.
"We played a competitive game against a physical team," Head Raider Coach Geary Oliver said. "Their size wore us down in the second half."
At the half, the score was tied at zero. The Raider defense held the Cougars out of the endzone in the first half, but they were worn down for the second.
"We were on defense for almost twice as many plays as offense, which makes it tough to win," Oliver noted. "White Swan controlled the clock, and while we moved the ball well, we hurt ourselves with penalties, which stalled our drives."
Oliver noted that Josiah Desautel averaged over 10 yards per carry, but "we just had limited opportunities to get him the ball."
Oliver pointed out that Kolby Picard had earned his way into his first starting lineup and "had a good game at cornerback."
This Friday will be Senior Night, and the Raiders will host the Kittitas Coyotes at Greene Field, with kickoff at 7 p.m.
"On film, Kittitas seems similar to us," Oliver said. "They have played well against tough teams, and we are looking forward to the game."
Kittitas comes into the game 1-6 overall, following a 34-8 loss to Warden last Friday.
