The first of December is still the target date for the reopening of the bowling alley in Coulee Dam, the new owner said Tuesday.
Scott Elmore said the Riverview Lanes and working areas are ready for business. “We have the lanes up and working and I’ve just a few more things to do before we can welcome customers,” Elmore stated.
Most of the equipment has been refurbished, the lanes treated, and, Elmore said, the lanes will be ready for play. He plans to be open Tuesdays through Saturdays, continuing the same hours as the lanes were open before.
“I want to thank Pat and Sara Zlateff for all the help they have been, working with me on the equipment and getting me acquainted in town,” Elmore said.
He is purchasing the business and equipment from the Zlateffs.
Riverview Lanes has been closed since August, and the closure interrupted fall and winter league schedules.
“We can start the leagues up again as soon as we get open,” Elmore said.
Elmore comes to Coulee Dam from the west side of the state. “I have worked in bowling alleys and always wanted one of my own,” Elmore said Tuesday.
The new owner has been in town off and on for several weeks, working on the equipment and getting ready for the opening.
Elmore said he is working with the town on the lease for the business, but sees no problem with getting the lanes ready for the Dec. 1 opening.
The Zlateffs owned and operated the bowling lanes for several years and have worked alongside Elmore an getting the business ready to open.
Tuesday the place was clean and appeared ready to go.
