Raiders slam Mustangs

Raider Basketball jumped out early and controlled the game all the way through to the end. The Bridgeport Mustangs were never in the game.

Lake Roosevelt jumped out in the first quarter to a 16-4 lead. The Raiders’ offense exploded in the second quarter, scoring 27 points while holding the Mustangs to just seven. At halftime, the score was LR 43, Bridgeport 11.

In the third quarter, the game slowed down, and each team scored fewer than 10 points. The score at the end of the third was LR 51, Bridgeport 13.

In the fourth quarter, the Mustangs and Raiders played more closely, but Bridgeport could not overcome the large deficit, and LR took the win at 62-21.

“My boys bounced back strong after a tough loss,” Coach Mario Adams wrote on his Facebook site after the game. “Proud of the way we competed.”

On Friday, the Raiders were scheduled to take on the Manson Trojans, who were 4-1 going into the game.

The Raiders were looking to use the momentum from the Bridgeport win against the Trojans, who suffered their first loss two days earlier to the Okanogan Bulldogs 77-42.

The next contests for the Raiders will be at the Lakeside Tournament at West Valley on Dec. 28-29. LR will face Cheney first on Dec. 28.
