Police

1/4 - A woman on Kelso Avenue in Electric City reported to police that a number of minors were having “pot” parties nearby. She said she would furnish names and ages of those participating.

1/5 - Police were advised of three vehicles that were preventing snow removal because they were parked on the street near MPH on Midway. One vehicle was completely covered with snow. They have been removed.

- Police attempted a welfare check on a woman on Weil Place. No one was found there.

- A woman on Burdin Boulevard reported that some fraudulent charges were made against her pre-paid Mastercard. She was asked to provide information that would help police follow up on her complaint.

1/6 - A man told police that his car had slipped on the icy road at Garner and Hill streets and when he got out of the car, the door locked with the key inside. MPH Automotive unlocked the door for him.

- Police found a stray dog on Center Street. It was reported that the dog got out of a car delivering a child for the school bus. The stray was taken to the veterinary clinic.

1/7 - An Electric City resident advised police that his brother had taken the keys to his vehicle and taken it without permission. He told police that his brother was on drugs. The man who took the vehicle was stopped later and arrested for the theft, a class B felony. He told police he had a smoking pipe, in his possession. The pipe with residue in it, was sent to the State Crime Lab for processing. The brother was taken to Grant County Jail.

1/8 - A 22-year-old Nespelem man was cited for having no license and no proof of insurance after police stopped him for driving without lights.

- A Coulee Gas clerk reported that a man came into the store and grabbed some potato chips and other items, then ran out of the store without paying for them. He ran up Main Street. Police were called and looked for the man but couldn’t find him.

1/9 - An Electric City woman told police that two men walked up to her car while she was stopped and one of the men grinned at her. Police looked for the man with a grin on his face but couldn’t find him.

- A woman on Sunny Drive NE, in Electric City, told police that her husband, who had been drinking, shoved a gun in her face and told her to shoot him. After he allegedly shoved her, she got into a separate room and called 911. The man was arrested and is being charged with fourth-degree assault. He was taken to Grant County Jail on the charge. The woman asked for a protection order. The gun was not found.

- A woman on E. Grand Coulee Avenue said her husband is sending harassing text messages in regard to the raising of their son. The two are in the process of a divorce. Police told the woman the texts were not classified as threats and that she should have the court explain each of their rights in regard to the son.

1/10 - Police responded to a report of a juvenile who had overdosed on pills and smoking marijuana. The youth was taken to Coulee Medical Center for treatment. When police arrived at the Kelso Avenue, home the 16-year-old was on the ground and appeared lethargic. There were a number of juveniles in the house and the placed reeked of marijuana. The woman who lived there said she had gone to the store and had only been away a short time. Police have advised Child Protective Services of the incident and police have sent the report to the prosecutor’s office, requesting a charge of reckless endangerment be made against the woman.

- A Grand Coulee woman was pulled over for using hand signals after dark and the officer found that she didn’t have insurance. She was cited.
