1/15 - An Electric City man is being charged with prescription fraud, trying to obtain a controlled substance by fraud, forgery, theft in the third degree, possessing stolen property and possession of methamphetamines after allegedly taking a prescription blank from Coulee Medical Center and trying to get drugs at Safeway Pharmacy. He was arrested and taken to Grant County Jail.
1/24 - A woman on Roosevelt Drive reported to police that her 2002 Jaguar had been stolen. She stated that someone had entered the house by forcing the back door and had taken a spare key. She told police that she suspected her late boyfriend of taking the car.
1/25 - A woman was caught on camera taking a jar with money in it at H&H Grocery. The money was for the Senior Meals on Wheels program. The woman was identified from the tape and officials at the store estimated that the jar contained about $20.
A deer was struck near Coulee Playland and it was blocking traffic. When an officer arrived the deer was dead and removed from the roadway.
- A woman who had a warrant out for her was picked up at her place of work and taken to Grant County Jail.
- Police checked on a man at Coulee Medical Center who needed surgery after being struck by a person wearing “brass knuckles.” Police were told the man needed surgery but had left the hospital.
1/26 - An Omak man was stopped northbound on SR-155 for going 62 mph in a 35 mph zone and cited after admitting that he was speeding.
- An Electric City man was caught on camera taking some items from Coulee Hardware, police reported.
- A Butler Square woman told police that someone in Salt Lake City had tried to access her bank account for $5,000. The bank had prevented the attempt from succeeding.
1/27 - An official at Coulee Medical Center reported that two individuals wearing masks were seen walking in the vicinity of the hospital. They were believed to be heading to a local residence.
- Police checked on a residence that had been entered on Banks Avenue. A neighbor had seen a man walking in the area and had taken a photo of him. Police were able to identify the man from the photo and found that a rear door had been forced. They are looking for the suspect.
1/28 - An Electric City man was found lying on the ground in front of the Electric City Bar and Grill. The report stated the man was drunk and couldn’t get up. An ambulance was called to take him to Coulee Medical Center.
- A resident at Washington Place in Electric City stated that someone had broken into his residence and taken a motorcycle, several guns, three television sets and an impact drill.
1/29 - A woman was arrested at the Coulee Dam Casino on two warrants when an officer saw her walking through the casino. She was handed to a tribal officer and ended up at Colville Tribal Corrections.
- The owner of two dogs running loose near Pole Park was given a warning by police.
- Police were called to Banks Lake Pub because of a fight. When the officer arrived, he found one man who had a cut over one eye and a cut to the back of his head. He was taken to Coulee Medical Center for treatment and told police he didn’t want to press charges. The man he was in a fight with had already left the area. It was reported that the two men had also fought two weeks earlier.
1/30 - Coulee Hardware reported that a young boy had shoplifted two items from a shelf at the store.
2/1 - A Hartline man was asked to leave Coulee Medical Center after he stretched out in the waiting area because he said he had no place else to go. He told the officer earlier that he was waiting for his girlfriend to return his car and that he was cold.
- Police went to Sunbanks Lake Resort after a call that a man had taken an iPad and wouldn’t return it. Police learned of a warrant for his arrest from the Department of Corrections. When he was picked up by police he complained of chest pains and was taken to Coulee Medical Center for observation and treatment. When released he was taken to Grant County Jail.
- Police went to a Spring Canyon apartment after receiving a call that a person was being held against his will. Officers responded only to learn that a man had jumped out of an upstairs window. Police looked for the man but couldn’t find him.
2/2 - A Canadian man was asked to leave a parking area below the Visitor Center while trying to get some after-hours sleep. He was told to find another place.
