The Lady Raiders won a close game Feb. 2 at home against Brewster, then lost big to the number-one Okanogan Bulldogs on Thursday night.
The split left the Lady Raiders with an overall win-loss record of 13-6 and a league record of 11-3. With the tiebreaker that was decided before the season, the Lady Raiders are the number-three seed from the North to the coming District 5/6 2B Basketball Tournament.
Feb. 2, at home for Senior Night the Lady Raiders had to fight hard from the tipoff to the end of the game. Brewster grabbed a large lead at the start of the second half, then the Lady Raiders began to come back. LR then gained a small lead and held on to it. The Lady Raiders came away with a Senior Night win, 49-46.
On Thursday, the Lady Raiders played the number-one Okanogan Bulldogs for the first minute and a half of the game, as neither scored. Then Okanogan began to change that. Several Bulldogs went on hot streaks, and the margin between Lake Roosevelt and the Bulldogs widened. The lead became as large as 60 points for Okanogan. LR was able to score to close to 57 points, but Okanogan won 81-24.
Finishing as the number-three seed from the North, the Lady Raiders will play today (Feb. 10) at 5 p.m. in Wenatchee High School against the Waterville-Mansfield Shockers. The Shockers defeated the Lady Raiders 54-29 earlier in the season.
On Saturday, the Lady Raiders will play at 2:45 p.m. If LR defeats Waterville, they will play at Eastmont High School. If Waterville wins, the the Lady Raiders will play at Eastmont Junior High.
