School board briefs

COULEE DAM—The Grand Coulee Dam School District board approved a number of personnel changes at its meeting Monday night.

New hires include Alissa Mansker, assistant leader of fourth- and fifth-grade SHARP Kids programs; Jaron Trotter, morning leader of first- through sixth-grade SHARP Kids programs; Hope Hansen, eighth-grade track coach; Jess Cavender, seventh-grade track coach; and Lisa Carlson, seventh-grade track coach.

The school board granted a leave request for Jennifer Hare, who is a specialist programs paraprofessional at Lake Roosevelt Elementary.

The board also approved retirement for Shirley Ritchie, a Lake Roosevelt Elementary classroom aide and playground monitor.

NESPELEM—The Nespelem School District Board of Directors Monday night approved the hiring of Matthew Timentwa as the school’s technology/assessment coordinator. Timentwa is a 2012 Lake Roosevelt High School graduate.

The board accepted the resignation of Alexis Denchel, and approved hiring several coaches next year: Dean Erickson for cross country, Pete Adolph for girls’ basketball, Marion Ives for boys’ basketball and Kerry Green for wrestling.

Directors approved a planned “Jogathon” event to raise funds for two scoreboards. They also approved two waterslide field trips — one at the end of the year and another during the summer.
