Sixty-six years ago

This view inside section E-1, Block 54, the working chamber of the floating caisson shows a drill operator drilling holes in the eroded concrete for hydraulic jacks, used to break the concrete out. The two engineers in the view are laying out dowels for new concrete in the excavated area. Pacific Bridge Company is performing repairs to the spillway face and bucket.
