LR track keeps moving forward

Raider Track competed in two meets last week. They traveled to Bridgeport April 12 for the Brewster Co-Ed Relays. Then on Saturday, the Raiders went to Cheney High School for the Big Red Invite.

“The Brewster Relay meet was a team-bonding event where girls and boys competed together in various sprint and distance medleys,” Head Coach Lori Adkins explained. “It was a fun meet and a great workout day.” No results have been posted for the Raiders at the Brewster Relays.

At the Big Red Invite, where the Raiders faced competition from all classification levels from around Eastern Washington and North Idaho, no one from Lake Roosevelt placed. Many did improve their personal records at the meet.

Nathaniel Hall improved his 100-meter time for the season. Jonell Denchel threw a personal record in the discus at 77 feet, 9 inches. Denchel also set a new PR in the shot put, throwing 26 feet, 11 inches.

Marisha Hobrecht improved her discus PR by one foot at Big Red, throwing 50-11. Robert George trimmed 75 hundredths of a second off his 110-meter high hurdle time, finishing at 19 seconds.

Cameron Tillman ran the 400 in 59.7 seconds, a new PR. The 4x100 meter relay team of Nathaniel Hall, Will Friedlander, Cameron Tillman, and Robert George ran their fastest time yet this season at Big Red, finishing in 49.29 seconds.

This is another two-meet week for the Raiders. Tonight, starting at 3:30 p.m. at Lakeside High School in Nine Mile Falls, the Raiders will be competing in the Northeast B League meet featuring many schools from the Bi-County and Panorama Leagues. On Saturday, the Raiders will head south to a Quincy invite. The 17th Annual CliftonLarsen-Allen Invitational will start at 10:30 a.m. for field events and 11:30 a.m. for track events. Some 23 teams will be in attendance from 2A to 1B in classification level.
