Darin Whiteman led the Raiders Thursday when they took on the Okanogan Bulldogs at Okanogan Valley Golf Course, medaling for the boys with an 83 on the 18-hole round on a par 72.
“It was a great round of golf by Darin,” Head Coach Steve Files said. “He drove the green on number 10, which is a short par 4, and nearly made eagle.”
Finishing second for the Raider boys was Lucas Bird at 120 strokes. Third was Dylan Steinert at 126.
Jazmine Reed led the Raider girls’ squad, finishing with 129 strokes. Reed was four strokes behind medalist Karina Baum of Okanogan.
Mikayla Miley came in second for LR’s girls with 144 strokes.
Some of the Raider golfers played only nine holes due to a lack of daylight.
Coach Files summed up the outing by first commenting on the weather.
“It was wet and a little chilly compared to the weather we’ve been enjoying lately,” Files noted. “It was our first experience with tough conditions, and the players handled themselves really well.”
The Raiders traveled Monday to Moses Lake and the Moses Pointe Golf Course to take on Moses Lake Christian, Riverside, and Sunnyside. Tonight at Banks Lake Golf Course, the Raiders host Oroville and Okanogan, starting at 2:30 p.m.
