Work days set for golf course

Volunteers, bring your rakes and shovels. Banks Lake Golf Course needs your help.

Golf officials there are planning the plugging of the greens and sanding them, Sept. 26–28.

Jim Keene, chairman of Port District 7, which manages of the course, put out the call for volunteers Tuesday.

“People have been very supportive of the golf course, and we appreciate it,” Keene stated.

Work parties on those three days will begin at 8 a.m., “but people can come anytime,” Keene added.

Volunteers are needed to shovel sand, and rakes are needed to rake the sand across the greens.
