Brenda Diantha (Farver) Lamoreaux

Obituary

Brenda Diantha Lamoreaux was born April 21, 1959, in Tonasket, Washington, to Marvin and Marilyn Farver and passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016, in Tacoma, Washington, after an unexpectedly quick battle with cancer.

Brenda spent the majority of her childhood in Nespelem, Washington, and attended Nespelem Elementary, Grand Coulee Dam Junior High School, and graduated from Lake Roosevelt High School in 1977. She was married to Christian Lamoreaux for 10 years but had been single since 1988. They did not have children together, but Brenda was a great, fun-loving aunt to her nieces and nephews.

Brenda worked in the insurance industry in Spokane and Seattle for over 30 years. She began as a receptionist, then helped establish a fledgling independent claims adjusting agency that she was with for 15 years. She moved on to work as an adjuster for two of the Northwest's largest insurance companies. She earned an Associates in Claims and a Certificate in General Insurance. She was also active in the National Association of Insurance Women and earned a Certified Professional Insurance Woman designation.

Brenda was fiercely loyal to her family and friends, was quick to offer help when she saw a need, and took joy in generously gifting others. She loved to travel with family, having visited Cancun, Hawaii, New York City and a variety of notable western U.S. destinations. Brenda made any get-together livelier, possessed an irreverent sense of humor and loved a good joke. She was never at a loss for words, was quick to share a story or anecdote, and had a ready comment or opinion on just about anything. When relaxing at home, she enjoyed watching movies, listening to country and classic rock music, and was a voracious reader, buying books by the bagful. One quick glance around her home would inform you that she really, really liked butterflies.

Brenda is survived by her parents, Marvin and Marilyn Farver; her brothers: John Farver, Scott (Carmen) Farver, Darryl (Sharon Howe) Moulton, and Perry (Sue) Moulton; her sister, Lisa (Kevin) McGowan; and many nieces and nephews, as well as Nancy Cawston Johnson, her best friend since childhood.

She will be missed by many.

At Brenda's request there will not be a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Brenda's name to Care Net of Grand Coulee, 402 Burdin Blvd. Grand Coulee, WA 99133.
