Deborah (Debbi) Ann Achord passed away Sunday, October 2, 2016, after a 13-year battle with cancer.
Debbi was born April 24, 1960, in Spokane, Washington. She was raised in the coulee area and graduated from Lake Roosevelt High School. She had a love for her horses that was beyond the average horse lover. She spent many years on race tracks such as Playfair. Later in life, her love expanded to rodeo, where she built an amazing rodeo family. She spent many years volunteering in various youth programs, such as junior rodeo, high school rodeo and 4-H. She was a coach in various sports. She spent many years in the ProWest Rodeo Circuit as secretary and various other functions.
Debbi was always willing to help no matter the circumstance. She loved her career at the Department of Transportation and was there for 29 years.
Debbi was a member of the Nazarene Church. She had a zest for life and loved to travel. In her spare time you could always find her out playing with her horse, Pistol, or mentoring others with their horses.
She is survived by her mother, Blanche Achord; father, Clint Achord; children: Angel (Matt) Viren and Shane (Natasha) Marchand; and five grandchildren: Pierce, JJ, Gunnar, Emma and Hadley.
A celebration of life will be held at 2 p.m., Friday, October 7, 2016, at the Ridge Riders Rodeo Grounds in Grand Coulee. A reception dinner will follow. Any cards/condolences may be sent to 22037 Alcan Road, Grand Coulee, Washington 99133.
