Raiders stung by Oroville Hornets

The Raiders boys basketball team suffered a grim defeat in Oroville over the weekend, losing 80-30 to the Hornets in Oroville.

“It was really a tough game to start the season,” remarked Head Coach Levi Seekins. “We played hard throughout the whole game. Quincy Williams played really well and led by example.”

The game was a lesson in what the team needs to work on.

“Hopefully, we learned how hard we need to play and how hard we need to prepare,” Seekins said. “We have a lot to improve on from fundamentals, team defense, preparation, and our shooting.”

The Raiders played the Brewster Bears last night in their first home game of the season. After four quarters the Hornets took home the win 65-37.

The boys travel to Liberty Bell on Thursday to take on the Liberty Bell Mountain Lions, then their next home game will be on Saturday, Dec. 10, at 1 p.m. against the Soap Lake Eagles in the Raider Gym in Coulee Dam.
