There's still plenty of time to fill out that school survey

You can access the Grand Coulee Dam District School survey online (http://www.gcdsd.org) and have an opportunity to make comments about the good things happening in the district and things you believe need improving.

The district office stated this week that the survey will be open until the end of February.

The school board plans to use the information from the surveys in shaping its Strategic Plan.

School officials said this week that 83 surveys have been received to date, most returned online.

The school district announced the survey after its early January meeting, and after some question adjustments the survey was placed online.

Hard copies of the survey are available at the district office.

The survey helps fulfill comments by superintendent Paul Turner, who stated shortly after taking over the position that one of his major goals was to find ways to improve communications with school staff and local patrons.

The survey asks on a scale of 1 to 5, if the district is effectively educating its students.

Then staff and patrons have the opportunity to highlight three strengths of the school district.

And the survey asks those filling it out for three suggestions on how the district can improve itself.

The results of the survey will be tabulated and made available to the public.

Turner encouraged people to fill out the survey since it will be important as the school board updates its Strategic Plan this spring.
