Dorothy Anne Gerleman was born March 19, 1979, in Spokane, Washington, and passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 5, 2017, in Everett, Washington. She is now at peace in a better place.
Dorothy Ann graduated from Lake Roosevelt High School in 1997. She lived in Marysville, Washington, for the last eight years and had worked for the Tulalip Casino as a blackjack dealer for seven years. Throughout the years she also had worked as a blackjack dealer at the Coulee Dam Casino and Mill Bay Casino.
She loved spending time at the Blues Festival at Sunbanks... never missed it; it was always on her schedule. She was a Spokane Tribal member.
She is survived by her mother, Lorraine Gerleman, of Wellpinit, Washington, her brother, Dan Hawley, and his children and wife, Yvette, of Wellpinit; sister, Lynette Hawley and her children, and Travis, of Nespelem, Washington; sister, Renae Hawley and her children, and Joe of Coulee Dam, Washington; and sister, Loralee Kivett, of Wellpinit.
She also leaves behind an extended family of many, many, good friends and loved ones from both the Colville and Spokane Indian Reservations, from towns and cities throughout the Pacific Northwest, especially those from the Marysville and greater Seattle area, and from so many other places throughout the country and the world.
Services were held February 9, 2017, at the Nespelem Community Center and Friday, Feb. 10, at the Wellpinit Longhouse. Funeral services were held February 11 at the Wellpinit Longhouse, with burial at the Wellpinit Presbyterian Cemetery.
