The Lake Roosevelt track and field team competed at the Ray Cross Invitational in Ephrata on Saturday.
The weather cooperated with the event, with the sun shining for the players, coaches, and spectators for event that included 38 schools from 1B to 4A.
“Throughout the eight-hour competition, the Raiders held tough and recorded many season and personal records,” remarked Head Coach Lori Adkins. “It was a great first outing, allowing us to see where our athletes’ strengths are.”
Adkins said freshmen Traey Clark and Kyle Edmo performed well in their first high school track event. “They competed strongly against much larger schools,” Adkins noted.
Clark finished the 200-meter dash in 26.04 seconds, a personal record, and 57.53 seconds in the 400-meter dash, another PR for Clark.
Edmo finished the 1,600-meter dash in five minutes and 16.35 seconds, a PR for him. Edmo finished the 3,200 in 11:38.94, another PR.
The Raiders’ next event is on Friday, March 31, for the Deer Park Invitational at Deer Park High School.
