Parade set for May 13

Parade forms went out this week to those wanting to en ter the Colorama Parade, May 13. You can enter by filling out parade forms found online at grandcouleedam.o y a cr/parade.

Peggy Nevsimal, executive director of the Grand Coulee Dam Area Chamber of Commerce, said the parade will have eight categories: Community entry; Organization/club entry; Business entry; School band; Classic car; Hot rod; Equestrian and Junior entry.

This year’s Colorama event will be the community’s 61st.

Colorama this year will include a three-day carnival, three-day vendor fair, two-day Pro-West Rodeo, helicopter rides, a beer garden, a raffle drawing and the parade.

Nevsimal said Tuesday that the chamber has already received 50 vendor entries for North Dam Park.

The parade will be staged near Center School and judging of regular entries will begin at 9:30 a.m. Equestrian entry judging will be at 10.

The Colorama Parade begins at 11 and runs down Midway Ave., in Grand Coulee.

It’s always a scramble to find a good parking place along the parade route, so come early and enjoy the day.
