The Lake Roosevelt baseball team traveled to Omak on Saturday, where the Raiders defeated the Pioneers in a decisive, 19-4 victory in the non-league game.
With four runs in the first inning, and a whopping 11 in the second, the Raiders jumped out to an early and commanding lead. After five innings, officials called the game, with a final score of 19-4.
"We played well against Omak," said Billy Nicholson, Head Coach for the Raiders.
Tyrell Kiser shined for LR. In addition to pitching five strikeouts in only two innings, Kiser hit four doubles and scored four runs. "Tyrell had nice hitting," Nicholson said.
Tony Nichols stole four bases in the game.
The Raiders have a win-loss record of 4-4 in the league, and 5-4 overall. Two of the losses are the result of a forfeited, shorthanded doubleheader against Bridgeport earlier in the season.
The Raiders played Pateros yesterday at home, results of which will be in next week's Star.
The Raiders will be hosting the Brewster Bears in a doubleheader on Friday, with the first game scheduled to start at 3:30 p.m.
