5/16 - The Department of Corrections advised police of a person wanted on a warrant for her arrest. Police found the person at the Grand Coulee Manor and took her to Grant County jail.
- An officer noticed a vehicle with expired tabs and stopped the driver at B street and SR-174. The driver, who had a valid driver’s license, was cited for the expired tabs, having no proof of insurance, a defective windshield and failing to carry registration.
- Officers went to Weil Place, where a man was trying to get a key for his car from his ex-wife. She told police she couldn’t find it and didn’t want him there. The officer told the man to find another way to get into his car.
5/18 - A woman living on Spokane Way told officers that her husband had been abusive for over a year and she was going to leave him but was afraid to return to the house to get her things. She was told if there was a problem retrieving her things to call 911.
5/19 - A Royal City woman was cited on a variety of charges after she was stopped for expired tabs. She also was cited for driving with a suspended license and for not having insurance.
- Police were told of a man bobbing in and around an alley off Federal Avenue. Police responded and saw the man enter a garage. Police went into the garage and found several people who said they were living there and hadn’t seen the man in question. One person nodded to show the sought man was indeed there, and police saw his foot sticking out from under a pile of clothes. The man had several warrants for his arrest and ended up in Grant County jail. The persons living in the garage were told that they were in violation of a city ordinance and must get out.
- USBR Plant Protection told police that a woman was yelling at cars and walking in the roadway. A man walking with the woman said he would keep her out of the roadway.
- Police checked on a disturbance on Electric Boulevard in Electric City and found that a person there was intoxicated and being loud. The homeowner said he would see that things quieted down.
- A man who had an altered scooter was told he could take the scooter home and make it street legal.
5/20 - Police contacted a woman walking on the highway near the top of the dam, who said that someone had taken her shoes and she didn’t want to walk on the rocks. The officer pointed to the sidewalk nearby. Upon checking on the woman, the police learned that an officer had had the same kind of contact with her the week before. She was cited for disorderly conduct.
- A Gold Lake resident was cited for driving with a suspended license, having no interlock system, and given a warning on a malfunctioning brake light.
- A Coulee Dam woman was arrested and taken to Grant County jail after a family disturbance at Sunbanks Resort. The woman allegedly bit two people. She is being charged with fourth-degree assault.
5/21 - The manager of an apartment on Hill Avenue asked that a woman be banned from the building after a ruckus at the manager’s door.
- Officers worked a domestic case and found the argument was over the woman washing a man’s clothes.
Coulee Dam
5/17 - Police checked on an alarm going off in the mayor’s office in town hall. The officer learned that the mayor reset the alarm.
5/18 - A person on Aspen Street reported that a woman was sitting on the sidewalk and appeared to be intoxicated and wasn’t wearing shoes. Police checked the area but couldn’t locate the person.
- A Cedar Street resident called in to notify an officer that there was a woman, slight in stature, in the middle of the street, yelling. Police went to the scene but couldn’t locate anyone, but later found two women walking toward the casino. The officer checked their identities, and neither was wanted on any warrants.
5/20 - Police had a complaint that two dogs were loose on Camas Street. The officer recognized the dogs but the owner wasn’t home.
5/21 - A woman on Central Drive reported that a man had kicked in her back door and was inside on the couch. The man was bound and taken to jail.
