LR soccer drops two, one in a shootout

Lady Raider soccer had a tough week, losing a couple of close games.

In Okanogan on Sept. 26, the Lady Raiders lost to the Lady Bulldogs, 3-0.

"It was a difficult game to watch," said Head Coach Casey Moore. "Our team didn't play as aggressive as usual. They did well on communication and passing. Maddie (Toulou) had several close attempts. Okanogan is a solid team and they deserved their 3-0 win. Our team played better than last year, and we are looking forward to a rematch with Okanogan next year."

Then on Saturday, Sept. 30, the Lady Raiders played the Bridgeport Fillies at home in Coulee Dam, where the game ended in a "shootout."

"It was a good matchup," Moore said. "The game was intense."

The Lady Raiders were down 2-0, but a score from Maddie Toulou and a goal from Loryn Moore on a penalty kick tied things up. Another Toulou goal and another Bridgeport goal kept things tied at 3-3.

A "shootout" tiebreaker ended with Bridgeport winning by one.

The Lady Raiders next game is today, Wednesday, Oct. 4, at home against Omak at 4:30 p.m. The Raiders have another home game on Saturday, hosting Liberty Bell, also at 4:30 p.m.
