Tonasket Tigers outscore Lady Raiders in soccer

The Lady Tigers soccer team caught the Lady Raiders by the toe on Saturday in Tonasket, making them pay with a final score of 5-1.

"We couldn't stop [Tonasket's] number two from scoring in the first half, although in the second half Loryn Moore and the defense shut her down," said LR Head Coach Casey Moore. "She scored four points right away. We just couldn't catch up."

Maddie Toulou scored LR's only goal, dribbling through two defenders off a pass from Loryn Moore.

"Our team did a better job of communicating, and the little passing we did was actually pretty good," Coach Moore said.

Lake Roosevelt's league win-loss record stands at four wins and three losses, fourth out of seven teams in the Central Washington 2B league, behind Tonasket (5-4), Liberty Bell (6-2), and Brewster (7-0).

The Lady Raiders' next game is set for Saturday in Brewster against the Lady Bears at 11 a.m., followed by a Monday game in Oroville against the Lady Hornets at 4:30 p.m.

LR's next home games are scheduled for Wednesday, Oct. 25, against Oroville, and Oct. 26 against Brewster, both at 4:30 p.m. in Grand Coulee.
