Police

11/7 - A Banks Avenue resident reported that someone had gone through an unlocked car the previous night. Police followed footprints to an unlocked truck, where nothing was taken. An adapter and some change was taken from car.

- Another resident of Banks Avenue stated to an officer that someone had entered a vehicle and taken a $20 bill.

- A Dill Avenue resident stated that someone had prowled their two cars during the night. A small knife, a hat, coat and some change was taken from one vehicle; a coin holder with about $5 was taken from the other.

- A resident of Lincoln Avenue in Electric City reported that a woman on drugs allegedly kept dropping off her daughter at the husband’s house and then would be gone for days. The two had a parenting plan, but it was violated. Police suggested that the husband go to the courts and get the parenting plan changed, and to involve Child Protective Services.

- A set of keys was taken along with other items when a thief entered an unlocked vehicle on Mead Avenue.

- Police and a city worker checked an alarm at the arsenic treatment plant in Electric City. Nothing appeared out of place.

11/8 - Police checked on another alarm at the arsenic treatment plant in Electric City. Everything was OK.

- Police saw a flashlight being used behind High Dam Tavern and found a woman wanted on an arrest warrant. She was taken to Grant County jail.

- A city worker in Electric City told police that a man jumped out in front of her truck, causing her to swerve out of her lane.

- A woman on East Grand Coulee Avenue reported that during the night someone entered her vehicle and took rings, bracelets, brooches, necklaces, CDs, binoculars and other items. She explained that she was in the process of moving.

- There was some yelling going on at an A Street location. The verbal argument was over someone getting a job.

- Police found a man at Coulee Playland whom the owner asked be banned from the property.

11/9 - A man on 1st Street reported that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and taken about $10 in change, a cell phone charger, an eyeglass cleaning kit, a box of earplugs, and some CDs.

- A woman was stopped because she didn’t have tabs on her license plate. She told the officer that the plates were for another car. The report stated that the same woman had been stopped two previous times for not having any plates on her vehicle.

- A vehicle on Fortuyn Road was a prowl target in daylight hours. The owner said the vehicle was not locked and that nothing appeared to have been taken.

- A man on A Street told police that someone had entered his unlocked vehicle and taken some change.

11/10 - Police stopped a man carrying a black bag that contained a coffee maker and a VCR. Due to the number of car prowls recently, the officer asked if he could take pictures and get serial numbers on the items, and the man said OK.

- A woman on Electric Boulevard in Electric City told police that someone had entered her unlocked vehicle and opened some mail she had inside.

- Someone had tried to enter a house on Coulee Boulevard East in Electric City. The party ripped a lock away from the door frame but didn’t get in.

- Someone had turned stop signs around the wrong way at Crest and Electric Boulevard in Electric City. The officer turned the signs around so they could be read.

- An officer picked up a loose dog on Hillcrest in Electric City. Since the dog was not licensed, the officer took it to the vet office, but it escaped and fled the area.

- A man standing on Midway Avenue, who was known to be wanted on an arrest warrant, was taken to Grant County jail.

- A man was stopped when an officer noticed his tabs had expired in 2014. He was cited and told to get a licensed driver to move his vehicle.

11/11 - A woman was stopped on SR-155 because her vehicle did not have plates attached. She was cited for driving while her license was suspended and for not having plates.

11/12 - A man on Alcan Road was picked up on a warrant for his arrest and taken to Grant County jail.

11/13 - Police received a barking dog complaint at West Grand Avenue. The officer responding couldn’t locate the dog.

- An officer went to the 500 block on Roosevelt on a report of a large brown dog running loose. The dog couldn’t be located.

- A Grand Coulee woman reported that she had lost her wallet.

- An Omak woman called police to report her wallet missing. She stated that she had it when she gassed up. Police stated that the wallet hadn’t been turned in.

11/5 - A suspicious person was reported in the Columbia River Inn area.

11/6 - A man was clocked by radar going 45 mph, 10 mph over the speed limit, near Green Field. The officer wrote the man a ticket.

- Police got a couple to calm down after a domestic dispute at a River Drive home. The officer suggested that the couple separate for a few days and that they be civil to each other in the meantime.

11/7 - Police responded to an alarm at the National Park Service headquarters. It was a false alarm.

11/8 - A woman on Cedar Street told police that she thought that someone might be at a nearby house that was boarded up. The officer could not find anyone at the house.

11/9 - Police were called to a domestic dispute on Spruce Street and helped resolve the problem.

- A 15-year-old driver was stopped for a headlamp violation. The officer found that he didn’t have a license and was driving illegally. The registered owner was called and took charge of the vehicle. The report is being sent to Okanogan County juvenile authorities.

11/11 - A rearview mirror on a USBR tour van was damaged when it struck a mirror on a motorhome while crossing the Coulee Dam Bridge.
