There has been a rash of car prowls in the Grand Coulee area.

In every incident, owners of the vehicles had left them unlocked; one had even left the keys in the ignition.
All reported that someone had ransacked their vehicles, going through whatever was inside and leaving things in a mess.
On Nov. 7, two prowls were reported on Banks Avenue. In each case the guilty party got some loose change and a few odds and ends.
Also on Nov. 7, prowls were reported on Dill Avenue and Mead. Losses on these two were not substantial, and included loose change.
A vehicle was gone through on East Grand Coulee Avenue Nov. 8.
On Nov. 9 three vehicles were prowled, including one gone through on First Street. Two unlocked vehicles were also entered, one on A Street and the other on Fortuyn Road.
Someone entered a car on Electric Boulevard in Electric City, opening mail left in the vehicle, on Nov. 10.
Grand Coulee police cautioned people in the area to lock their cars and to not leave keys in the ignition.
They also stated that leaving valuables on the seats in plain view is an invitation for thieves to take them.
